Civil Servants Salaries to Be Suspended
It was late last night, March 10, that president Ali Bongo Ondimba via its spokesperson, M. Alain Claude Billie By Nzé, during a press conference in Libreville informed civil servants, and the general public alike of the president intent to suspend salaries.
Indeed, if work is not resumed quickly nationwide as indicated by president Bongo Ondimba’s spokesperson, the likeliness of civil servants to see their salaries suspended is a thought strongly nurtured in the presidential palace.
‘From here on, we shall abide by the law, nothing but the law... he/she who does not work, will not be remunerated’, quoted President Ali Bongo’s spokesperson in his televised address.
While conceding to Unions’ demands as to the elaboration of the new salary structure and the payment of bonuses for the last term of 2014, the president however, turned down Unions’ demand to raise civil servants net salary.
