Total Gabon settles tax problems

CEO of Total gabon, Patrick Pouyanné said in an interview with Radio France International (RFI) "the tax litigation between the Total Gabon and the Government is settled.".

On February 14th 2014, The Gabonese economy Ministry addressed a notice of tax reassessment to the firm which the amount is $805 million. From 2008 to 2010 the firm had a partial cost recovery of $ 387 million due to a tax control.

“Sometimes, the tax rules are not totally clear, but it settled amicably, as usual with our African friends” said, the chief executive of Total.

Total Gabon which denied totally this tax reassessment, however had eventually found an agreement with Gabon.
