The General Directorate of taxes decided to go on the ground to identify informal traders of the largest commercial space of the Gabonese capital, The Mont Bouet market. Its traders will received the visit of the Directorate General of taxation (DGI) staff.

This operation of the DGI has the double objective to combat the informal sector originally from big losses in tax revenues, losses that may reach billions of CFA francs, but also to instill the notion of fiscal citizenship to merchants.

If the first operation of the same type, launched by the DGDI in 2013, aimed to educate traders on the need for them to legalize their status.
