In Gabon, the European Union (EU) and 18 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have launched a project called “We eat local” to promote the consumption of local products so as to boost domestic agricultural production.

The initiative is 75% funded by Brussels, says the APA.

The project is focused on solving the logistical problems faced by farmers by acquiring vehicles to transport agricultural products from farm to market. Another aspect taken into account is the promotion of local production through the creation of a label “We eat local”.
