The opposition party gathered last Sunday January 4th in Gabon’s economic hub during a press briefing lead by the UPG Vice chair Colombo Mbourou to urge its population to freeze all activities in order to demonstrate over the drastic “political, economic and social crisis that currently lives Gabon.

According to those political leaders “Gabon lives serious, economic and political crisis”. They accused the government to violate freedom of democratic speech, and especially the rights to demonstrate. They also deplore the events that happened in universities of Masuku and Omar Bongo, the prohibited rally of Rio and the arbitrary arrestations of more than a hundred demonstrators and the journalist Francis Edou Eyene by soldiers working for the Presidency. They claim the immediate liberations of the prisoners.
