Gabon to drain 20 000 tourists for the Lopé National Park

Gabon plans to attract 20 000 ecologist tourists before 2020 in the national park of Lopé, northeast of the country, one of thirteen national parks created in 2002, announced a communiqué of the national Agency of the national parks (ANPN).

According to the ANPN, the Bureau in charge of the management of the national parks, this vision ensues from the validation of the master plan of town planning for small locality of Lopé located at the heart of the national park.

The document was recently submitted to authorities and to local populations for approval, indicates the communiqué.

The master plan of town planning aims at two objectives, in particular the rehabilitation of the infrastructures of the city of Lopé, improve life standard of the populations and the promotion of the tourism according to a green architectural approach.

This development plan of this village, classified besides since 2007 in the world heritage by the United Nations Organization for the education, the science and the culture (UNESCO) was realized thanks to a European Union grant.
