The AfDB to elect its new President

Donald Kaberuka currently chair of the African Development Banks’s mandate ends in September. The institution will organize an election in five months before on May 28. It will be held at the headquarters of the institution in Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire

Indeed, eight representatives from different African countries claim to succeed the Rwandan Donald Kaberuka. These candidates are divided into two areas: the area of French-speaking countries which includes fifty-four African countries and of donors.

With regard to the sector of countries using French as a common language and who are in competition for this position include, Chad which will be represented by Kordjé Bedoumra, Malian Birima Boubacar Sidibe, which could unite behind him the 15 Member States of the economic community of the West Africa States, Tunisian Jalloul Ayed which is for the account of Maghreb and Cristina Duarte, who represents Cape Verde.
