The 12th CEMAC Head of States Summit to take place in Gabon

Gabon will host the 12th summit of the economic and monetary community of Central Africa CEMAC from next January 7th to 8th at Libreville. The summit will tackle the points related to economic, politics, insecurity (the case in Central Africa) and the growing dangers caused by Nigerian Muslim groups Boko Haram.

Other topics to be discussed are the conversion of CFA Francs between countries in CEMAC zone and those of the European Union as well as the ones of economic and monetary union of Western Africa (UEMOA). They also planned to raise the point related to the failure of the sub-regional airlines company “Air CEMAC”, community integration with the difficultly for goods and people to move, such Gabon and Equatorial Guinea which still require visas for expatriates.

The future of the CEMAC commission momently relocated from Bangui to Gabon due to the current crisis in CAR. The bottom line of this summit is for sure the security in Central Africa.
