The meeting aimed at addressing unions’ demands, and finding common grounds in order for civil servants to resume work rapidly, that is to say, by Monday March 09, 2015.

After considerable assessment of suggestions, and following President Ali Bongo’s directives, a statement ensued from the government late last weekend, from which it has transpired an increment in public expenditure from 680 billion in 2014 to 2,500 billion CFA.

However, the government did not deem such initiatives sustainable, for these estimations largely exceed the initial estimate of 732 billion CFA of state budget for the year 2015.

Let it be known that the suggestions formulated, and discussed during the Government, Unions and Civil society’s weekend wide working session still need receive President Ali Bongo’s approval.
