CEMAC summit approves free movement of persons

The heads of State of the countries members of the economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) decided Wednesday to Libreville, to lift the lock of the free movement of persons.The announcement was made by the chair of the president of the CEMAC Commission, Pierre Moussa as declined in the final communiqué of the 12th CEMAC conference.

According to Mr. Moussa, the free movement of persons approval will be conditioned by the presentation of the Identification card and biometric passports as well for citizens of CEMAC countries.

Four Heads of States in the CEMAC took part in this Libreville Summit. This is host Gabonese president Ali Bongo Ondimba, Congolese President, Denis Sassou Nguesso, the Equatorial Guinea’s President, Teodoro Obiang Nguema, and Chad President, Idriss Deby Itno. Cameroon was represented by the president of the Economic and Social Council Luc Ayang and for Central African Republic by Mahamat Kamoun, its Prime Minister.
