The Gabonese Teachers Union decided to go on a "warning strike" of 3 days since last Tuesday to push the Government to meet their demands, reports the daily newspaper L’Union.

" We return on strike to ask for the release of our cash voucher" for allowing the payment of salaries on March, in April and May, as well as the incentive premium payment, said one of the leaders of the Union, Simon Ndong Edzo, quoted by the newspaper.

"This strike will not take place home nor in establishments. The teachers will come to the Department of Education to increase the pressure, because it is over there that the problem settles", added the union activist.

At the beginning of February, to the appeal of about twenty labor unions(syndicates) of the public service, in particular the Department of Education and health, the state employees had already entered strike to claim for wage payement.
