Health workers, NGOs, technical and financial partners and public administration executives met since yesterday for a workshop entitled “Country Dialogue on the fight against development”. The 2 days’ workshop aims to set priorities and national control strategies to curb the disease.

Every year, tuberculosis kills about 2 million people worldwide and nearly 9 million may be detected infected. Most of the victims of tuberculosis are also infected with HIV, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, according to the World Health Organization. The workshop will also tackle other killing diseases such as AIDS and malaria.
