Michaëlle Jean launches the Francophone funds for digital innovation

General Secretary of the Francophonie Michaëlle Jean speaking during the second edition of the African Citizens’ Summit announced today the launch of the Francophone funds for digital innovation to support African youth working in the developing of innovative applications.

"I have the great pleasure to launch, for you young people, the Francophone funds for digital innovation. I chose to make it here in Gabon, because I know, Mister President of the Republic, your will to invest massively in information and communication technologies and to develop access High-speed Internet on the whole Gabonese territory." said Michaëlle Jean to young Africans.

The announcement came during the 2015 New York Forum Africa in Libreville, alongside with Gabon’s President Ali BONGO ONDIMBA and Former chair of the EU commission José Manuel Barroso.
